| Abstract: | Multi-cloud environments have gained popularity due to their ability to offer more flexibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness to users. However, they have also introduced new security and privacy challenges that need to be addressed. This paper presents a comprehensive study of the security and privacy challenges in multi-cloud environments, including the issues and risks associated with data protection, access control, identity management, and compliance. The paper also discusses the various techniques and strategies that can be employed to mitigate these challenges, such as encryption, key management, secure virtualization, and network security. The study highlights the importance of taking a holistic approach to security and privacy in multi-cloud environments, which involves considering the entire ecosystem and adopting a risk-based approach to security. The paper also identifies some of the gaps and challenges in current research and provides recommendations for future research directions. Overall, this paper provides valuable insights into the security and privacy challenges in multi-cloud environments and the various strategies that can be used to address them, which can be useful for researchers, practitioners, and organizations that are considering adopting multi-cloud environments. |
