Abstract

This current study attempts to investigate the perceptions of English language lecturers, instructors and learners regarding online teaching and learning compared to classroom teaching and learning. The major aims of this study were to identify English language lecturers’ and instructors’ perceptions towards online teaching compared to classroom teaching, language learners’ perceptions on online learning (zoom) compared to classroom learning and find the most suitable environment to teach and learn the second language among university undergraduates. For this purpose, four English lecturers and six English instructors from the Department of English Language Teaching and 50 students from the selected faculties were selected using convenient and purposive sampling. This research has used a mixed method approach which comprises questionnaire, focus group discussions and interview as data colleting tools.
