Abstract

The popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) is growing for several reasons, such as cost savings and increased environmental and climate awareness. This study examines developments in electric vehicle (EV) battery technology, charging techniques, and novel research challenges. More precisely, a review of the global market environment for EVs and related future possibilities is pursued. Considering that the battery is one of the essential components of EVs, the study provides a comprehensive analysis of battery technology, ranging from lead-acid batteries to ion-lithium batteries. We also go over the various power control and battery energy management approaches that are out there, along with the standards that are available for EV charging. With this, we wrap up our work by outlining our expectations for this field going forward. The areas of research that remain unexplored by the educational and business sectors A car with one or more electric motors for propulsion is called an electric vehicle (EV). It can run on electricity from sources outside of the vehicle, such as collector systems, batteries that are occasionally charged by solar panels, or fuel cells or generators that turn gasoline into electricity. Road and rail cars, surface and underwater watercraft, electric airplanes, and electric spacecraft are examples of electric vehicles (EVs). In terms of road cars, EVs and other cutting-edge automotive technologies like shared mobility, autonomous driving, and connected vehicles combine to create a future mobility concept known as Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric (CASE) Mobility. Since electricity offered a degree of comfort and convenience of use that gasoline-powered cars of the day were unable to match, EVs have existed since the late 19th century, when it was one of the most popular forms of motor vehicle propulsion. While electric power remained ubiquitous in other vehicle types, such as railways and smaller vehicles of all kinds, internal combustion engines remained the primary propulsion technology for cars and trucks for approximately a century.
