Abstract: Sand mining is an activity that plays a vital function in production, infrastructure development, and the economy. However, indiscriminate and unsustainable sand mining practices can have significant negative consequences on the environment. This abstract focuses on the effects of sand mining on the environment, with a particular emphasis on Ikeduru Local Government in Imo State, Nigeria.
