Abstract
The study of legend and local tradition of Narsinghanath is an integral part of the study with regards to its heritage and culture. It is not only important for a holistic approach but also to understand the cultural continuity of the site and its contribution to Odishan culture. The article is intended to focus on the myth and tradition of Narsinghanath in general and to appreciate the cultural continuity of the region in particular.. However, a non- Hindu deity became accepted as Hindu deity- Märjära Keshari.It has been worshipping in the temple of Hindu pantheon. Thus, the situation has expressed the rightly on the influence of greater tradition over little tradition in the locality and exemplified the process of Aryanisation in the regional level.
