Abstract
In India, chronic respiratory diseases account for 3% of Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs); together COPD, asthma, and other respiratory diseases are the second leading cause of death in the Indian population and fourth in the world according to WHO (²,³) Asthma is an chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways in which cells and cellular elements play a role. The chronic inflammation is associated with airway hyper responsive that leads to recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathless, chest tightness and coughing particularly at night and early morning ( ¹)
