Abstract The quest for industrialization using technological (scientific) research and innovation among the developing nation is unprecedented in contemporary times. The united Arab Emirate (UAE) experience is a pointer to share government determination to transform the country to an industrialized nation by designing and implementing a comprehensive roadmap on integrating technology for their development goals. The paper investigates the historical economic background of UAE, and using the principles of endogenous growth model, revolutionizes the public and entrepreneurs of the economy with the use of technological innovations. The paper toted the well articulated multi-sectoral roadmap that galvanized UAE into where it today in the league of industrial revolution. Recommendations were made for other countries who might want to adopt the UAE model for industrialization. However, care has been taken to forestall the possible high rate of unemployment, social inequality, and the cyber-security threat that might follow as consequences of industrialization in a highly populated economy. In the bid to understand the nature of research and innovation in the era of 4th industrial revolution, trying to comprehend the role or part they play regards to the UAE. The paper will also look at how these variables drive the course because without their existence there will be no industrial revolution. The UAE on its own is country that to become a global hub for research and innovation. The paper also examines what strategies and policies lay down by the country achieve the level of development they have now. One of the problems this paper will examine is the role research and innovation is playing in the era of 4th industrial revolution. The paper also discusses the objective of this study which tries to encourage other developing countries to borrow leaf from the UAE and develop their country. The UAE government deliberates research and innovation to turn the country into an industrial hub through what is now known and called the 4th Industrial revolution. With relative stability in political process over time, the Emirates was able to provide good quality of life, low tax regime, financial support for the small and medium enterprises, as well as attracting foreign investments to the country. Within a short space of time, this paper therefore examines how the United Arab Emirate was able to move from the state of a developing country (3rd World Country) to the League of Industrialized countries using scientific research and innovation.
