It highlights the lack of colonial accounts on the Eastern Nagas and their isolation as an un-administered area. The study explores the partitioning of Eastern Naga tribes along the border, emphasizing their trans-national community and its implications for understanding borders and territorial sovereignty. It emphasizes the significance of internal borders and their impact on the Nagas' lives, discussing contestations and emotional connections associated with state borders. By drawing on primary sources and contextualizing them within relevant literature, the paper provides a comprehensive understanding of the Eastern Nagas' incorporation into the Naga national movement throughout different historical periods.
