The present investigation on biology of rice weevil, Sitophilus oryzae (L.) on stored maize was conducted during 2020-21. Studies on biology were carried out under laboratory conditions at Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, Dharwad. The incubation period was 4 to 6 days. There were three moults with four instars and total larval period lasted for 25 to 32 days. Pupal period for 7 to 10 days. Total life cycle of the pest from egg to adult stage was ranged from 32 to 48 days with a mean of 41 days and the average fecundity of adult female was 55.20 eggs per female.
