A by-product of coal power plants is called fly ash. Managing this industrial process over the previous two decades for many developing nations, garbage has presented significant difficulties. However, this threat has a wide range of industrial uses, including civil, automotive, and aerospace applications. In recent years, the use of fly ash as a feedstock material for numerous thermal spray processes has grown significantly. Fly ash has been employed as a reinforcement material in the aerospace industry and as a thermal barrier coating for IC engines in the automotive sector, which both require lighter and stronger materials. The morphology and chemical makeup of fly ash particles of various sizes from the cenosphere (hollow) and precipitator (solid) offer an overview in this work. In vehicle, aerospace, and other commercial applications, aluminium alloy reinforced composite materials are frequently employed. Aluminium composites are a lightweight material that offer exceptional features such high specific strength, specific modulus, stiffness, heat resistance, and environmental friendliness. As a result, they are employed extensively. These situations require us to improve and boost physical and mechanical qualities while lowering the cost and weight of the composites. The impacts of varied fly ash reinforcement on the mechanical properties of various matrixes of metallic alloy have been thoroughly examined. It is also investigated how well metal matrix FA composites resist wear and corrosion. The prospective uses of FA-filled composites are used to discuss future perspectives in this subject.
