This study presents a heart disease prediction system using the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm. The aim is to leverage machine learning techniques to accurately predict the likelihood of heart disease based on various risk factors. Heart disease is a significant cause of mortality globally, and early detection is crucial for successful treatment.
The KNN algorithm classifies samples by considering the majority of their k nearest neighbors in the training data. By analyzing factors such as age, blood pressure, cholesterol level, resting blood pressure, fasting blood pressure, chest pain, old peak, thalach etc the algorithm predicts the probability of heart disease occurrence.
This research contributes to the field of heart disease prediction by showcasing the potential of machine learning algorithms in aiding medical professionals with early detection and treatment. The results suggest that
the KNN algorithm is a reliable tool for predicting heart disease. Future work will focus on incorporating additional features to further enhance the algorithm's performance and accuracy in predictions.
