Abstract
With the increasing popularity of social media platforms, fake profiles have become a significant concern for both individuals and organisations. Instagram is one such platform that has witnessed a surge in fake profiles used for various malicious purposes. This paper proposes a machine learning-based approach for detecting fake profiles on Instagram. Our system analyses multiple features of the shapes, such as the number of followers, posts, and likes, and uses these features to train a classifier to identify fake profiles. Our experimental results show that our approach achieves high accuracy in detecting fake profiles on Instagram.
