The four BRIC countries, namely, Brazil, Russia, India and China, since the year 2009 have been unanimous in working together with similar to an alliance of sorts. However, the success of this so-called alliance, especially in the long run has long been a subject of debate. Different authors and researchers over a period of time have presented their views and the respective role of these countries in the success or failure of this alliance. While all BRIC countries have become altogether in the course of recent decades, and have come up with extraordinary measures in the elimination of poverty, the debate remains whether the alliance can be termed significant with regard to geopolitical or socio-economic concerns at all.
