| Abstract: | Esophageal perforations are uncommon and challenging to treat. Early clinical suspicion and imaging are crucial for case management to achieve favorable outcomes. Delayed diagnosis may cause a catastrophic clinical course due to mediastinitis and sepsis. Emergency management is challenging and the mortality rate remains high. The treatment options include surgical intervention or conservative therapy. Treatment options depend on hemodynamic stability, symptom severity, nature of the injury, and timing of the injury. Here, we describe the case of a young boy who sustained neck trauma and was diagnosed with esophageal perforation. |
