Abstract: High-level performance keeps an organisation in business while low-level performance does the contrary. Organisational performance has a small chance of being maximized where employees experience low job satisfaction due to poor work environment, poor advancement opportunities, among other factors. These factors constitute a hindrance to the efforts of organisations such as food and beverage manufacturing companies that conduct businesses in competitive environments to maximize performance. This study was conducted to determine the mediating effect of job satisfaction in the relationship between transformational leadership and the performance of employees of a food and beverage manufacturing company in Oyo State, Nigeria. The study was conducted based on a survey research design. Data were collected on a scale ranging from Strongly Agree, 4, to Strongly Disagree, 1. Hypotheses were stated and tested in order to attain the objectives of the study. Data analyses were carried out based on inferential statistics involving simple and multiple regression analyses. The findings of the study revealed that job satisfaction mediated the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. The effect of transformational leadership on employee performance was positive and statistically significant; so also was the effect of transformational leadership on job satisfaction. The implication of the findings was stated. It indicates that in order to boost performance in the studied company, it was necessary for the management of the company to place huge emphasis on factors that promote job satisfaction such as conducive work environment, training, and advancement opportunities.
