Abstract
Human Resource Management plays important role in achieving success in an organisation. The Workplace Employee Relations Survey 1998 sampled of some 2000 workplaces and obtained the views of about 28000 employees. In this study it has been found that there is a strong association between HRM and both employee attitudes and workplace performance. Against this background, the aim of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of the role of strategic human resource management and its implication in an organisation. The structure of the paper is as follows. After introduction, section – II deals with the theoretical background and its different forms and practices. Section - III focus on the role of Strategic Human Resource Management for successful adaptation in organisation and finally Section - IV consists with conclusions and suggestions
