DALPAT CHAUHAN: A VOICE FOR VOICELESS Dr. Rajesh Shriniwas Shesham Associate Professor Department of English Deogiri College, Aurangabad (MS) Abstract: In the history of human civilization, struggle has been indispensible. Struggle is bless when being done for progress and development. However, in Indian social structure, a particular class, in an attempt to establish its hegemony, deprived few sections of the society from mainstream thus hindering its development. Radical forces kept Dalits in India far away from being civilized, educated and thus improved. Movements were initiated for equality and liberty in India and often were crushed. In the midst of this, Indian constitution made a shield against injustice caused to Dalits by giving all the citizens of India equal rights and opportunities-it was on constitutional and political. Literature, a true mirror of the society always remained impartial, rather is an honest portrayal of the social, cultural, and political movements. Therefore, literature in this context has been playing crucial role to give voice to marginalized sections in the society. Gujrati Dalit Literature is one of the facets of Indian social system that raises voice for equality in all domains. It painfully yet truthfully talks about social evils like bias, mayhem, inequality, paucity, and infringement of human rights. It also talks about predicament of the downtrodden section of the society.
