Abstract
Online gaming, a worldwide phenomenon, involves playing video games over the internet, typically with friends. It offers numerous benefits and drawbacks. On the positive front, it distracts individuals, especially young people, from harmful activities such as drug abuse and gang involvement. Moreover, it brings thrill, encourages competition, and enhances cognitive abilities. The online gaming market is set to hit $431.87 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 19.6% from 2023 to 2030. Asia-Pacific dominates the market, with key players like Microsoft, Activision Blizzard, Apple, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, and more. India, the largest mobile gaming market globally, recorded online gaming revenue of $1.2 billion in 2021, projected to rise to $1.9 billion by 2024. The nation boasts 303 million mobile gamers and is partnering with IIT Bombay to establish a National AVGC Centre of Excellence.
