This paper presents the development of a front axle test rig for evaluating the performance of the front axle of the tractor. The test rig employs pneumatic actuators, electric brakes, and data acquisition systems to simulate real-world driving conditions, including road irregularities and cornering manoeuvres. The design considers load capacity, actuation speed, and control accuracy for accurate and repeatable results. Validation is conducted by comparing data with real vehicle measurements. The front axle test rig offers valuable insights for research and development, enabling engineers to assess component performance, optimize designs, and enhance vehicle dynamics. This research contributes to the understanding of front axle behaviour and facilitates the development of improved suspension systems for enhanced vehicle performance and safety. We have recorded results for torque division during forward drive and reverse drive. We also recorded results when one of the two wheels were stopped using brakes. The developed test rig enables engineers to assess the performance of suspension components, evaluate their impact on vehicle dynamics and optimize design parameters.
