This study has been undertaken to highlight the importance of modifying poor quality soil at construction sites through soil stabilization techniques. Various approaches are employed to enhance the soil's geotechnical properties, such as compressibility, strength, permeability, and durability. However, the use of stabilizing agents like lime and stone dust in soil stabilization is not widely practiced in India due to issues and lack of standardized data. In this project, 3%, 5%, 7% and 10% lime by weight is added to three soil samples collected from different locations to obtain a comparative study. The variations in Maximum Dry Density, Optimum Moisture Content, and California Bearing Ratio serve as a basis for stabilizing subgrade soil in Assam, aiming to develop a suitable soil mix for weather conditions in the region.
