Introduction: Siddha system of medicine is the ancient, unique and potent system among all the system of medicine at present. It was invented by siddhars who were the spitirual scientists of the ancient Tamilnadu. This study was designed to explore the public’s preference of selection of medical system for the well-being of their children. To find out the awareness of siddha medicine in pediatric ailments. Material and methods: This study is an observational study to understand the utilization of Traditional siddha medicine amongst children in Kancheepuram district. This study was designed as a community based cross sectional study to evaluate the public awareness about the utilization of Siddha medicines for common pediatric ailments. The geographical areas of the participants of this study were selected by randomization of wards and streets of the selected geographical location. All the houses of the selected areas were taken into consideration and the families with children in the age group upto 12 years were included. Result: All the collected data were recorded in the relevant forms and were analyzed statistically. 11.32% of the people had given siddha medicine amongst children. Most of the people (about 48%) had visited our siddha hospital by the mouth words of already benefitted people. Conclusion: In this study 282 children are enrolled were affected 2.52% of people preferring home remedies and 57.23% of people prefer hospital treatment children health. When 18.87% of people had taken treatment on government hospital and 60.38% of people had taken treatment on private hospital for children health.
