Abstract

Irrespective of whether a country is developed or developing, waste management is the major issues that the world faces. The major issue with management of waste is that the trash cans in public areas overflow far earlier than the start of the subsequent cleaning operation. As a result, it introduces several dangers, including unpleasant odors and aesthetic defects, to the area, which could be the main factor in the spread of several diseases. This effort is based on a smart waste system to prevent any such dangerous situations and to protect public health and hygiene. The primary goal of the effort is to create a clever, intelligent garbage alarm system for effective waste management. This study suggests an intelligent warning system for garbage clearance that sends a signal to the municipal web server to request immediate dustbin cleaning with adequate verification depending on degree of waste filling. This process is made easier by an ultrasonic sensor that checks the amount of trash in the dustbin and, if it is full, sends an alert to the municipal web server. The ultrasonic sensor is connected to an Arduino UNO. As soon as the trash can has been cleaned, the driver uses an RFID tag to authenticate that the waste has been emptied. RFID is a technology that is used for computing employed in the verification process and, with it improves the smart garbage alert system by providing an automatic recognition of waste filled in the dustbin and sends the notification to clean-up to the dustbins, confirming that the task is done. An embedded module that has been integrated with RFID and IOT facilitation is responsible for supporting the entire process. The local authorities might use this technology to monitor and keep track of the status of rubbish collection in real time. Moreover, the required corrective or alternative steps could be modified. To communicate alarms from the microcontroller to the urban office and to perform remote monitoring of the cleaning process carried out by the workers, an Android application is built and connected to a web server, thereby eliminating the manual process of monitoring and verification. With the help of the Wi-Fi module, the alerts are delivered to the Mobile application. Key Words: Monitoring, Arduino UNO, Wi-Fi module, Ultra Sonic Sensor, Internet of things (IoT), Waste Management using application.
