Abstract
The Indian economy depends heavily on Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs), which make important contributions to job creation, innovation, and economic growth. MSMEs must overcome a number of obstacles, including restricted access to financing, ignorance of government programmes and benefits, and insufficient dispute resolution procedures. In this regard, the Indian government introduced Udyam Registration, a streamlined online registration process for MSMEs, in an effort to increase their credibility and visibility while facilitating their access to government programmes and benefits. This study attempts to investigate how Udyam Registration has affected the expansion and improvement of MSMEs in India. The study uses a quantitative research approach and uses a structured questionnaire to collect data from 500 MSMEs as a sample. The study's conclusions imply that Udyam Registration has a favourable effect on MSMEs in India's access to government programmes and benefits, credibility, dispute resolution, and access to financing. The report also points out a number of issues and places where Udyam Registration has to be improved. The study's conclusion offers concrete suggestions for policymakers and MSMEs on how to improve Udyam Registration's efficiency in fostering the expansion and development of MSMEs in India.
