Abstract
As per government rules, if an industry is consuming more than 40kW of power then, they have to maintain the power factor to unity. Otherwise they will be charged huge penalty charges from the electricity board. The changes in PF values may occur due to failure in components of APFC Panel such as capacitor and contactor and companies come to know about it only when they receive huge penalty bill. To avoid this, we've come up with the idea for early detection of faulty capacitor and contactor in an APFC Panel.
