An alternative to washing your hands with soap and water is hand sanitizer. The most crucial precaution to take in order to stop the spread of infectious diseases, stop the spread of hazardous bacteria, and keep the skin protected from microorganisms is hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizers come in liquid, foam, and easy-to-apply gel formulations. There are hand sanitizers on the market that contain alcohol and those that don't. But, frequent use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer damages the skin on your hands; as a result, it's important to produce herbal hand sanitizers that are gentle on the skin while still being effective at eradicating germs. The secondary metabolites found in plants, such as tannins, terpeoids, alkaloids, and flavonoids, among others, are abundant.Compounds those have been discovered to have antibacterial qualities. The current review work makes an effort to compile the findings of researchers from India and other countries who are looking at herbs as potential antimicrobials for the creation of herbal hand sanitizers. Method: Using PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane, a thorough electronic search was conducted to gather and evaluate pertinent information on herbal sanitizers. As a result, numerous pertinent research were found that shed light on the antibacterial abilities of herbs and their prospective application as hand sanitizers. Ocimum sanctum (tulsi leaves), Eugenia caryophyllus (clove), Cymbopogon flexuous (lemon grass), Aloe barbadensis (aloe), Mentha arvensis (mint), Azadirachata indica (neem), and Eucalyptus globulus are some herbs that are used to make herbal hand sanitizers (eucalyptus).
