“A Descriptive Study To Assess The Risk Factors Of Breast Cancer Among The Women In Selected Medicine Outpatient Department Of Svbp Hospital At Meerut”
Background of the study: Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. The development of breast cancer is a multi-step process involving multiple cell types, and its prevention remains challenging in the world. Early diagnosis of breast cancer is one of the best approaches to prevent this disease. Aim of the study: • To assess the risk factors of breast cancer among the women. Research Methodology The qualitative study was conducted using Non experimental research design in SVBP Hospital at Meerut. The sampling technique used was Non probability purposive sampling. The total sample size for the study was 100 and data collection was collected by using questionnaire method. Result: The result of study shows that The assessment With regard to tobacco use 17(17%) of women are using tobacco, no women taking alcohol, 25(25%) of women menarche started at early age, 80(80%) of women taking oral pills, 26(26%) of women having family history of cancer,36(36%) of women taking hormonal therapy, 16(16%) of women having history of early age at pregnancy, 10(10%) of women having history of late age at pregnancy, 4(4%) of women having abnormal discharge from breast, 6(6%) of women having history of benign breast disorder, With regard to the breast feed12(12%) out of 100 women have not done breast feed to their child. 2(2%) of women having history of minor breast surgery. CONCLUSION- The result of assessment of risk factors of breast cancer out of100 samples in having the risk to develop breast cancer. According to the findings we can conclude that now a days women are at higher risk for development of breast cancer.
