| Abstract: | Religion plays and important role in the formation of a society as it constructs the social value and enables a sense of community among the individuals in the society. With the onset of time, we have been clearly witnessing how religion and the debates revolving it have become an important talk whether its on the news or on the debates. The paper will focus upon the role of religion in Indian national politics with special focus on the concept of ‘Hindu- Rashtra’ and the current political debates related to it with special reference to how the notion of secularism becomes important during this time. |
