Abstract
Background: In the modern era of networking, technological advances, particularly invention of computers revolutionized our way of working. Most of the computer operators suffering from neck pain due to poor posture while working. It reduces their performance on their daily functional activities. Objectives To analyse the effect of posture on Neck pain in computer operators. To analyse the effect of posture on functional activities in computer operators by using Questionnaire. Methods 100 subjects were taken for the study from SVIMS, Tirupati. Males 49% and females 51% with age group of 25-50 with work duration of 6- 8 hrs per day with work experience of 9-17 years were taken. And they were surveyed with the help of NDI Questionnaire. Result Out of 100 subjects, 73 individuals have Forward head position and 27 have normal head and neck position. Out of 73, both gender equally affected with mostly affected age group of 30-45 with 69 individuals were working for 6-8 hours ,27 individuals were having work experience of 9-11 years and have Mild to Moderate disability based on NDI Questionnaire. Conclusion From this we conclude that most of the computer operators have forward head position which affects their neck pain and functional activities, develops mild to moderate disability with both gender equally affected and mostly affected people in age group of 30-45 years with working experience of 9-11 years and working hours of 6-8 hours per day.
