Biosensors are promising analytical device that detects various types of pollutants. Normally biosensors consist of the biological component connected to the transducer. In the present report, we have presented the basic theory of biosensors. The construction and its working principles have been presented thoroughly. The classification of biosensors is also discussed in the present paper. Lastly, we have discussed the applications of biosensors.
