Abstract
Vitiligo, a common depigmenting skin disorder, has an estimated prevalence of 0.5–2% of the population worldwide, Vitiligo is an acquired & progressive pigmentary disorder of the skin and mucous membranes, possibly in other organs as well. The disease is characterized by the selective loss of melanocytes which results in typical non-scaly, chalky-white macules. Vitiligo is often dismissed as a cosmetic problem, although its effects can be psychologically devastating, often with a considerable burden on daily life. It is located on the bottom layer of the epidermis A disease that causes the loss of skin color in blotches. It can Phototherapy, or light therapy, uses different types of ultraviolet lights to restore skin pigmentation.
