Solid waste collected and transported 4823 TPD in 2018, 4684 TPD in 2019, 5247 TPD in 2020, and 4593 TPD in 2021. Municipalities generated 50% (1996-2000), 70% (2001-2006), and 100% (2006-2011) of solid waste. In Panchayat city, they should be 10%, 30%, and 70% respectively. In 2020, 907,014 households (45%) out of 586 households in the city achieved solid waste segregation in 2015, and 946,688 households (46%) out of 2,058,018 households achieved solid waste separation in 2021. The main focus of this study is the analysis of solid waste management and household waste generation and segregation. This research study is primarily based on primary data collected from 120 respondents in Chennai City. The researcher used statistical tools such as regression analysis, chi-square tests, and one-way ANOVA to test hypotheses and meet their goals. 57.5% of respondents identified renewable waste as the main component of solid waste. 43.33% of respondents said that at home they produce 0.100-0.499 kg of garbage per day. 50% of respondents said that community participation in SWM was fair. 55% of respondents say climate change, soil, water, and air pollution, damage to wildlife and marine life, and impacts on people are the result of poor waste management.
