Abstract
नारी स्वतंत्रता के कितने भी नारे लगाऍं जाए , नारी प्रगती नारी शिक्षा के बारे में कहा जाए , लेकिन वह सब दिखावा लगता है जब हम देखते है कि , नारी को कई कारणों से शोषित किया जाता है | पुराने जमाने से नारी का शोषण होता आ रहा है , चाहे वो उसके परिवार वालों से हो ,बाहरवालों से हो I पहले उसका शारिरीक , मानसिक शोषण होता था और अब आर्थिक शोषण भी होता है I घर ,परिवार, बच्चे सारी जिम्मेदारियाँ उठाते - उठाते अब उसे घर की आर्थिक जिम्मेदारी भी उठानी पडती है ,इसका मतलब अब उसे पत्नी धर्म के साथ पती धर्म भी निभाना पडता है I इतना कुछ करने के बावजूद भी उसे जो सम्मान , अधिकार मिलना चाहिए वो नही मिलता | मालती जोशी की कहानियों में यही बाते अत्यंत प्रभावी ढंग से प्रस्तुत हुई है I हर कहानी अलग ,उसका स्वरूप अलग, नारी की दुर्दशा का रूप भी अलग दिखाया गया है ,और यह सब मालती जोशी ने अपनी अत्यंत सरल और मर्मस्पर्शी भाषा में प्रस्तुत किया है |
