This paper provides an overview of the meaning and types of real estate and an introduction to investing in real estate. Going into detail about recent statistics of growth in the market, it provides the viewer with past information and future predictions. Furthermore, the paper goes into detail about the different ways to invest in real estate with their respective pros, cons and reasons, with special emphasis on short-term and long-term rentals. The latter half of the paper analyses short-term rentals further to bring to light how Airbnb has taken advantage of the surge in the short-term rental market to facilitate its success. The paper finishes off by providing a guide that allows an individual to start their own Airbnb business.
