Abstract
While a new drug is located, the company that discovered it would practice for patency to save you different companies from generating and promoting the drug. But after the patency expires, other companies are allowed to produce a similar drug. It is what gave rise to brand and generic name in drugs. This articles gives a brief explanation on innovator and Generic drugs and steps involved during Generic drug development process.
