Abstract: Abstract In this paper, we examine Blockchain technology's smart contracts feature as a solution to issues with bioinformatics and the difficulties of exchanging health data. Sharing genomic data sets presents significant challenges because it is different from sharing traditional medical data, it reveals information about the data owners', ancestors and relatives, and continues to carry value even after the data owner's death and these issues raise serious concerns about data security. Therefore, while working with genomic data, strict data ownership and control mechanisms are needed. Blockchain technologies present a promising alternative to conventional distribution networks in the provision of safe and accountable infrastructure. This is the rationale behind the genomics related Blockchain infrastructure research that is on the rise. We proposed a model that would deploy a smart contract feature of blockchain to enhance data security.
