| Abstract: | The present study aimed to perform preliminary phytochemical evaluation and screening of various extracts of Leonotis nepetifolia as hepatoprotective. Extraction of plant material using different solvents and TLC study using ethylacetate, n-hexane and hydroalcoholic extracts. Screening of various extracts by Paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity on Sprague Dawley rats and extracts were used for the evaluation of hepatoprotective activity. It presents biochemical test including SGOT and SGPT and antimicrobial activity was also evaluated. Phytochemical evaluation showed the presence of alkaloid, flavonoid and glycosides. The examination indicated the antimicrobial activity and hepatoprotective activity more significantly in ethyl acetate extract. |
