ABSTRACT- Objective- In Ayurveda Pandu Roga has been mentioned as Varanoplakshita Roga which is characterized by the change in the skin colour of the patient to Peeta, Shweta, Harita, Haridra etc. According to Acharya Charka, Pandu Roga is Rasapradoshja Vikara, whereas Acharya Sushruta mentioned it as a Raktapradoshja Vikara. Due to its similarity, it can be co -related with modern disease Anemia. Anemia is functionally defined as the presence of insufficient red blood cell mass to adequately deliver oxygen to the peripheral tissues. We designed the current study because Anemia affects a big section of the population and lowers their quality of life. Method- The study was conducted in Rishikul Ayurvedic Hospital among 40 patients. All selected patients were randomly assigned to two treatment groups, Group A (Darvyadi Lauha), Group B (Ferrous Sulphate 200mg). Total duration of study was 45 days along with a follow up period of 15 days. Assessment was done on the basis of subjective and objective parameters. Results- Both the interventions were found to be significantly effective. The overall effect of Group A was better than Group B. Statistically insignificant result found on comparison of both groups.
