Kana mantham is a term which mentioned in siddha literature, a GI tract related disease. It’s one of the type of mantham in 32 varieties. Mantham is simply denotes as indigestion but it can affect the gutbrain axis leads to serious illness on central and peripheral nervous system. The disease occurs on first year of the life to third year but it’s further complications continued until the life. The term kana mantham may be corelated with modern terminology named as Gastroenteritis. An estimated 140 million cases of gastroenteritis and 800,000 deaths in children between the ages of 6 months to 2 yr in developing countries. In India, one of every 250 children or about 100-150,000 children die of diarrhoea each year. The prevalence of diarrhoea in India has been found to vary from 5-71 per cent in hospitalized children <5 yr of age with acute gastroenteritis. It a serious and common illness in all over the country. In this study, I have presented 5 case report of gastroenteritis based on laboratory diagnosis. The treatment schedule is only on internal medicine in the recommended dose as per siddha literature for 14 days. After 14 days, the patient overcome with the all the symptoms. The medicine is in tablet form easy to consume by the child and also it’s ingredients are good working in gastrointestinal tract.
