| Abstract: | Metformin is a class of drug called Biguanides. It is used to control high blood sugar in type 2 diabetes ,hence it help to prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve damage, sexual problems, while in case of Empagliflozin it is belong to class sodium glucose co- transporter SGLT-2 inhibitor it lowers blood sugar by causing kidney to get rid of more glucose in the urine. The present work is based on excludation of buffer solution in mobile phase and use of cheap solvent in development of cost effective method. Result: The Chromatographic separation was achieved on Chemsil C18 column used as stationary phase and Methanol : Water (65:35% v/v) used as mobile phase. The flow rate was 1ml/min and the absorbance was monitored at 227nm. Metformin Hydrochloride and Empagliflozin was eluted at 2.273min and 4.117min. The procedure and capabilities were evaluated against system suitability, linearity, precision ,accuracy, LOD,LOQ and Robustness as per ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines. The method shows good linearity ( R2=0.9992 and 0.9996) |
