Abstract
Abstract Fantasy sport is an online virtual game where the gamer’s line up players within the credit point limit allotted to the individual players. According to Cambridge Dictionary, ‘a fantasy sport is a game in which you choose a team of real sports players from different teams and win points according to how well the players play each week’. There have been various steps taken by franchises and sports organizers to increase fan engagement, and the upsurge of fantasy sports in India has laid down a way to actively involve fans in the game. Popular leagues such as EPL, NFL, NHL, IPL, etc. use Fantasy sports for fan engagement. Besides engagement some fantasy platform allows participants to earn money as well. This paper describes review fantasy sport and a retrospective approach of using recent stats of a player/team to build a fantasy team. An algorithm is framed using the statistical method with Scaling of Ranks in terms of the Normal probability curve. This method gives a rank order of players in decreasing selection importance and more appropriate than any other mode of selection of players.
