Women empowerment through micro financial resources is one of the most excellent tools to empower the rural people. Today majority of the state government is focusing on the empowerment of women in India. Microfinance provides women with the financial support so that they can start their business ventures and actively participates in the economy with confidence, and improves their will power in decision making. It is a successful program to distribute wealth in the country for poor women. Self Help Groups are also considered as one of the most significant tools in participatory approach for the economic empowerment of women. It plays an important role in improving the life of women on various social components. The present paper confines itself to study of Women Empowerment through the Micro finance in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh State. Simple statistical tools were adopted in the present study. Based on the analysis of women empowerment through self help groups in East Godavari, the major findings of this study there is a positive impact of Self Help Groups on Women empowerment in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh.
