Abstract
The role of entrepreneurs in economic development may be understood by the contribution they, make to the different sectors of economy. Entrepreneurs are the cost-effective agents as they utilize the last bit of resource available at their disposal. When they succeed, they do contribute to the development, otherwise disappear from the market because the market cannot tolerate miscalculation, lack of commitment and in competencies. Further, economic development to include increase in productivity, socio-economic equalization, improved institutions and attitudes, and a rationally coordinated system of policy measures and removal of undesirable conditions and systems that perpetuate a state of development (Black, 1966).
