The Background of his novel 'Untouchable' is realistic. His novels are based on his own experience and observation of the lives of the out caste and peasant and solider and working people. ‘Untouchable’ is the most compact and artistically satisfying. This novel breathes a strong protest against social injustice meted out to the untouchables. The novel strikes us the picture of a place of a society and of certain persons not easily to be forgotten. ‘Untouchable’ is a picture that is also an indictment of the evil of a decadent and perverted orthodoxy.realistica manner human nature and the Indian social scene. Institutions and authority are the instruments of exploitation and injustice. Class distinction between the rich and the poor between high caste Hindus and the dregs of humanity known as untouchabels, hamper the free development of individuals and result in numerous social evils .
