The primary objective of this project is to assess the effects of fir-tree parameters such as bottom flank angle ,skew angle and number of teeth on stress and pressure distribution at the fir-tree region of aero-engine turbine blade disc joint due to fretting phenomenon by using finite element analysis method. The secondary objective is to carry out the Analysis of variance of parameters and response using MINITAB 17.0 to identify the significant effects of these parameters on computed responses such as von-mises stress, maximum and minimum principle stresses, maximum shear stress, and contact pressure.
