Exchange Traded Funds and Index Funds have established themselves as important components of the financial markets and have thus offered investors value. It has significantly increased in size during the last two years. However, no industry can expand and thrive if the proper regulatory environment is not in place. These actions would help the market for exchange-traded funds and index funds expand and become more competitive. Research is currently required to ascertain the factors that influence retail investors in Bangalore to favor Exchange-traded funds and Index funds as investment vehicles. The following null hypotheses are the foundation of the study: The level of acceptance of retail investors from various demographic groups towards the variables influencing their decision to invest in exchange-traded funds and index funds does not significantly correlate. Chi square test, one-way variance analysis, student t-test, analysis of co-efficient of variation, multiple regression analysis, and percentage analysis have all been used to investigate the factors influencing retail investors in Bengaluru to favour investing in index funds and exchange-traded funds. The correlation between the respondents' demographic characteristics and their happiness with investing in index funds, exchange traded funds, and their favourite fund type was assessed using the chi square test. Due to the influence of several purchase criteria, the current study examines how small investors' purchasing behaviour is coherent. If the study prompts the relevant regulator to act favourably to broaden the investment options for exchange traded funds and index funds.
