BACKGROUND
Laser Assisted Pediatric Dentistry (LAP-D) is an effective treatment option that provide young children the essential dental care which is less painful, quicker and enables faster recovery. Lasers are used in all fields of dentistry for regular dental procedures that yields better clinical outcomes. LAP-D should be included for all pediatric patients as it is less invasive and provide biostimulating effect to tissues.
AIM
The study aims at evaluating the soft tissue LASER surgeries in children using diode laser at varying power output.
MATERIALS & METHODOLOGY
The patient requiring minor soft tissue surgeries such as frenectomy, operculectomy, gingivectomy etc were selected and the procedure for the surgery using LASERwas explained to the parent and the patient. All required documentations and precautions were taken. Evaluation was done in terms of pain , ease of performing , time taken for healing.
