Abstract: Design of Advanced Boiler tube concepts in the thermal power plant area is nowadays challenging and more important for the world, because of increasing the demand of electricity. Many types of failure are Occur in tube, these failures affect the power plant efficiency and life of the components. Failures likes creep, fatigue, steam side oxidation, fire side corrosion, erosion etc. Service temperature of boiler tube never remains constant during a regular plant operation, so that insulation effect of steam side oxidation and fire side corrosion occur. Failure analysis indicate the leakage due to stress corrosion cracking. Performance of high temperature steel 9-12 % chromium martensitic steel have problem with cracking. Grade T91 material has good properties up to 600 C temperature above that temperature it’s not more stable so that Grade T92 has introduced. The material selection for a new boiler tube, as the key player of supercritical and ultra-supercritical boiler tube design. It is described and showing good results on long period basis. Through the analysis choosing best material. This Paper presents in general terms the properties and requirements of different tube of supercritical boiler.
